It's All About the Timing

As scared to death as I am of getting the shot and suffering possible side effects and paying freakin' $750 for A SHOT, I'm also a bit thankful for the timing of it. Wanna know what's kept me distracted? (I know you're on the edge of your seat/couch/bed/etc) HAHA! :)

1. The house hunting, paperwork dealing, and pre-decorating have majorly distracted me!
2. I'm gonna get stuck with the lovely needle during my Spring Break (yes, this is bittersweet)
3. I'm spending the 4 days BEFORE the shot in NYC, baby! yeah! I'm so pumped. I've never been in the Spring! Only fall and winter. Looking forward to central park! (and LOTS of other stuff!)
4. I hosted my fun book club meeting this month. Which meant I had a book to read and a mini party to plan! We read They Did it with Love. Very good, light mystery! Had me up until the very end!
5. My SIL is having a boy. We found out a couple of weeks ago. This just pumped me up more for getting brave and strong about the shot and trying to think positive! My SIL's pregnancy is moving right along and now that we know the sex and the name, it's giving me major baby fever (as if it's not already there!)
6. It's soon. It's almost here. I haven't had to wait too long and over analyze things and stress. It's been on the backburner (thanks to all my distractions!)
7. And finally...it's ONE STEP CLOSER TO A BABY!

Cold Weather, TV, and Good Books!

For Georgia, it has been unusually cold at the start of the new year. I mean, 13 degrees when I leave the house for work? No way. I love visiting cold places, but don't think I could make it living there! (though I DO love coats, scarves, and hats!)

Anyway, with the snow, ice & low temps this weekend we did a lot of hanging out at home. Which was nice, especially coming off of the holidays. We have cooked, watched movies, and caught up on tv shows (Fringe and 30 Rock). Does anyone else think 30 Rock isn't as funny as it used to be? I still love it though!

I've also been reading. I'm supposed to be reading "The Lovely Bones" for the book club that I'm in but I have gotten sidetracked and picked up "The Fixer Upper" by Mary Kay Andrews. She is a local gal so it's fun to read her books as they take place in towns and places I'm familiar with. I have gotten hooked on this book. It's about a girl whose job as a lawyer in DC suddenly falls out from under her due to a political scandal and she needs a place to think about her next life move. Her dad had recently inherited an old mansion in Georgia that he wants to clean up and flip. In comes the main character to the rescue. Of course she gets there and it's way worse than she imagined (think 'Money Pit') and she meets a cute, single guy her first day there. :) Since I love decorating and my husband and I went through a remodel a few years ago, the story line is super fun to me. I can't wait to read more!

So, anyway, I need to come up with some books to suggest at my next meeting. Anyone read anything good lately??? Please share!

So...IVF

I've been so caught up and worried about the financial aspect of IVF that I haven't given much thought to the whole process itself. And I feel like I need to. I like to be informed. Plan ahead. That sort of thing.

My teacher insurance does not cover anything toward fertility treatment. Everything we've done so far with Dr.K has been out of pocket. With such a big deposit needed to begin IVF, we're holding off until January.

I'm okay with this. It'll give me a chance to organize, get centered, relax, prepare, and most importantly, spend some time with Zach. It'll be good for us to have a few months to be able to be 'us' without always talking about dr appts or schedules or meds or side effects etc...

In the spirit of me 'prepping' for IVF, does anyone recommend any books on IVF? Or couples going through the process?
